Reasons for Reading

The author’s lecture courses available online seem to be overloaded with demonstration materials. Therefore, some of these materials, especially those relating to various experiments, are presented here separately in the form of a data ATLAS. The ATLAS is aimed at providing a clear explanation of modern experiments related to the spin of the particle.

Opening Paragraph

In our lectures, we discussed collective properties of various nuclei at inelastic scattering of polarized protons. However, nuclei near N, Z = 28 have not been considered thoroughly.

Especially interesting in this regard are the even-mass isotopes of the nickel (Ni) nucleus. Their spectrum shows the familiar pattern of a “vibrational-like” nucleus. Of course, it is also possible to find states in these nuclei, reflecting the lower degree of collectivity. However, at least low-lying states provide a good example of collective excitations to which the DWBA or coupled-channel (CC) analyses can be applied.

Summary

The author’s lecture courses available online seem to be overloaded with demonstration materials. Therefore, some of these materials, especially those relating to various experiments, are presented here separately in the form of an ATLAS that can be considered as a supplement to the lectures.

Recommended to

The ATLAS is recommended to students studying experimental nuclear physics at universities and polytechnic schools. It can be used as a guide to understanding elements of quantum mechanics. Such a guide, in the author’s opinion, can eliminate the existing gap in the available scientific literature.
