Pes ball — principal instrument in the game. Its quality determines the accuracy of the strike, flight, and players' feelings. A bad ball can spoil even a genius pass. We tell you what the ball is made of, what to pay attention to when choosing, and which brands are reliable.

Ball Structure

Shell: panels (32 before, now 12-24), stitched or glued. Material: PVC (cheap, hard), TPU (professional, soft), polyurethane (the best). Lining: fabric (1-4 layers) for shape and shock absorption. Chamber: latex (elastic, but leaks) or butyl (holds pressure). Valve: for inflation.

Professional balls (FIFA Quality Pro) have 4-5 layers of lining and TPU coating.

Quality Standards

FIFA Quality: the ball has passed tests on weight (410-450 g), circumference (68-70 cm), pressure (0.6-1.1 atm), rebound (50-70% of the height of fall). Loss of shape after 2000 hits. Water absorption (not more than 10% of weight). Certificate: the ball must have the "FIFA Quality" or "FIFA Quality Pro" logo. Without a certificate, it is not allowed to enter tournaments.

Brands

Adidas: official World Cup ball (Al Rihla 2022, model 2026 — unknown). Most innovative. Nike: balls for the Premier League. Puma: for La Liga. Select (Denmark): for training. Derbystar (Germany): for the Bundesliga. Russian: "Alek", "Torpedo" (medium quality). Best for amateurs: Adidas Tango (classic), Select Numero 10.

Prices: from 1000 rubles (for children) to 10,000 rubles (for professionals).

How to Choose a Ball

For grass (pitch): with panels, non-slip. For park (asphalt, soil): with PVC coating (durable). For hall: ball with reduced rebound (futsal). For children: lighter weight and size (#4). Do not take balls from Chinese no-name brands (fall apart after two games). Test: squeeze the ball — it should spring back. Drop from 1 meter — the rebound should be 50-70 cm.

Important: store the ball inflated (but not overinflated).

Innovations

Chip inside: balls for the 2022 World Cup had a sensor (detects touch, acceleration). Seamless technology: panels are glued (no holes). Eco-balls: made of recycled plastic (Puma, Adidas). Lighting: LED balls for night games (so far for shows). Future: ball with changeable shape? No.

But football is a simple game, and the ball should be simply round.
